Speakers

Pastor Angel Barnett

Angel Barnett is a passionate follower of Christ with a heart for the “least of these”. Over the past 26 years, she and her husband, Luke Barnett, have led churches with an emphasis on Kingdom growth, innovation and community outreach. Angel has also ministered in places such as Russia, India, Haiti, Bangladesh, and South America. Since 2011, Luke and Angel have pastored Dream City Church, a multi-site campus in Phoenix, Arizona, building on the legacy of Luke’s father, Tommy Barnett.

Angel’s leadership experience has propelled her to assume a variety of managerial and ministerial roles, including a leadership position for Creative Arts at Dream City Church, which reaches tens of thousands annually through events such as the Celebration of Christmas, Dream Conference and Easter Extravaganza. She has also served as the Dream City Church Women’s Ministry Director, overseeing major women’s events, monthly gatherings and weekly small group studies.

In 2018, Angel became passionately involved in various outreach efforts to the Short Creek Community, which straddles the Utah/Arizona border. Formerly under the control of a polygamous cult, the residents of this community were left in desperate need, emotionally, physically, financially and spiritually.

Today, Angel is using that passion to serve the Short Creek Community through the Short Creek Dream Center, which provides a place of refuge from anyone fleeing an abusive and oppressive environment and offers transitional housing, recovery, community outreach, food and more. Through these efforts, Angel envisions a renewed community that is on a path to a secure and sustainable future. It is her belief that when we respond to a great cause, we will accomplish great things together.

Angel currently serves as CEO of the Dream Institute, part of the number one non-profit organization in the world that addresses the human trafficking crises while also serving struggling families, addicts, the homeless and disadvantaged.

Pastor Tasha Cobbs-Leonard

For Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, it all began in her hometown, Jesup, Georgia. There she functioned as Worship Leader of Jesup New Life Ministries, founded by her late father, Bishop Fritz Cobbs. Tasha faithfully lent her talents at her local assembly before an unforeseen relocation to Atlanta, Georgia, where she joined the thriving dReam Center Church of Atlanta. Most of her tenure at dReam Center entailed leading worship weekly and managing the various entities of the Worship & Arts Department. She now serves as one of the team pastors at dReam Center.

In 2012, Cobbs would go on to record her freshman project titled GRACE, produced by multi-award-winner and Motown Gospel label mate, VaShawn Mitchell. This project laced with organic and moving tracks featured the lead single, Break Every Chain, which landed as Billboard’s #1 song for a total of 12 weeks. This anthem unleashed liberation to countless audiences nationwide each time it was heard or ministered. The album Grace landed on Billboard’s Top 10 Gospel Albums chart for a year. It was definite that the world had received not just another singer, but a rare gift.

More than an artist, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard is an innovative tool of influence with a passion for mentorship. Resulting from this passion came the launch of the iLead Escape, a global ministry mentorship program that aids 2,000 mentees in sharpening the knowledge and execution of their gifts. In addition to this program, Tasha extended the reach of her mentorship with her debut book, WORSHIP 101, a manual that revisits the basics of worship.

In such a short time, Tasha has seen extraordinary success with accomplishments that include: a Grammy Award, 3 Stellar Awards, and 3 Dove Awards. She notes God’s grace as the reason for it all.
Pastor Tasha Cobbs-Leonard continues to brand herself as a multifaceted game-changer as she blazes her own trail with her music career and ministry efforts. In light of all the recognition she has been afforded, her goal remains to use her platform as an opportunity to fulfill the purpose of her assignment.

artist

Anna Golden

Anna Golden started her career as a showbiz kid and is the youngest of four unusually talented siblings. She spent most of her childhood in Los Angeles audition rooms, landing a manager before she could drive and earning consistent work with mainstream entertainment outlets, including Radio Disney.

The Lord told her at age 11 that music would be her calling, and she chose to accept that mandate. By 18, she was in charge of the worship team at Faith Church in her hometown and began to release her worship songs independently.

In 2017, Pastor Tasha Cobbs Leonard invited Golden to a recording session for her historic album, “Heart. Passion. Pursuit,” and featured the young singer on her single “Gracefully Broken.” From there, Golden traveled with the pastor as a background vocalist. When Leonard launched her imprint, TeeLee Records, she chose Golden as her debut artist.

Shortly after the coronavirus pandemic began to impact the world, Golden, joined by her sister Liz Golden and pop superstar Selena Gomez, uploaded a stripped-down cover of the worship anthem “The Blessing” to Instagram. The post gained massive attention for Golden and ushered the release of the single “Peace,” to critical acclaim.

Benita Jones

Originating from Selma, Ala., Benita Jones is a national gospel recording artist and songwriter. Formally known as Benita Washington, she has 15 years in the industry, beginning with her first album, “Hold On,” featuring the fan-favorite, “Thank You.” Since that time, she has released several projects, including “Renaissance: Live in Nashville,” “The Word Remains” and “The Evolution,” which earned her a Stellar Award nomination. It was from “The Evolution” album that she also released the single “Stand and Proclaim” and the popular hit “Way Maker.” In July 2020, Jones released her fifth and current album, “The Entreating,” which includes the current radio single “Good God.” This song has earned Jones recognition by the Recording Academy and several placements on the Billboard charts.

Jones led and served for over 12 years in the worship and arts ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn. Her following grew tremendously as she became one of the world’s most recognized internet worship leaders. As a result of that admiration and the call to empower worship leaders in the local church, Jones founded EvolveU Worship in 2014. Since its inception, she has served as a consultant and clinician to numerous music ministries nationwide. Jones is also conference host of the EvolveU Worship Gathering, where music ministry teams, leaders, musicians, and pastors gather to refuel, refresh and realign themselves for ministry in their local churches.
